Welcome to the Greenhearts Badminton & Social Group!!


Whether you’re a Competition or Weekend Badminton Player we have a badminton game suitable for you. You are also welcome to all our other social activities which will help keep you evergreen, young & healthy! Our badminton sessions are held at the Nunawading Community Centre, Melway Map ref 48 E10 (see below for details). (Keep scrolling down the page for latest news, pictures & items of interest!! Don't be surprised to see your face!)

We also organise a range of social activites other within our group in addition to the regular badminton sessions. These include potluck dinner parties, karaoke parties, year end dinners, shows, BBQs, fishing(see pic above) & picnics. Located at Silver Grove , Nunawading, Victoria 3131 Melway Map ref: 48 E10. Mondays : - 9.30 am to 11.30 am
Wednesdays : 11.30 am to 1.30 pm

Right into Winter! Let's Eat, Play & Party!

We have to eat to survive & play badminton! So here we are again at Lucky Yu eating to survive...& also putting back what we used up in the court! Joe pays us a visit after being away from our Wednesday session for awhile now! Good to see you Joe!! While the ever improving Edward , Simon & Coleman join in!














There's the Wednesday group in action! And of course Tony's packing up to go as usual!..Always too busy for another game!

We wellcome all kinds of people to our group! You can wear long pants, yellow caps...whatever you like but as long as you wear something!!














What's this caper? Everyone's looking upwards!! Must be a UFO or maybe it's a bird, no! Maybe a plane! No! It's Superman!!














Looks like Joe partnering Simon taking on Ah Fun & Kevin! Looks like a good game coming up!

Time to let down your hair & enjoy!! What would be better than being among friends & singing on a cold winters' evening?? There's Tony finally holding a mic after months of singing lessons! While the ladies discuss his wonderful performance! What a debut!! This is Australian Idol stuff!!














Someone else takes the stage & everyone else listens in awe!!

Another evening! Another potluck and Vincent takes a deserved drink of hot tea after a nice warm potluck dinner!














Richard carefully fills up his small plastic plate! He loves the "black mee" (notice his plate.) . John & Harry also get into the act!














Everyone's hungry after an early session of singing! Time to put back some into the belly!














The ladies take their turn now! I thought it was "ladies first"? Never mind! Depends on who needs it more urgently! After all we're no longer young teenagers! Sorry! I think it's the ladies having seconds! A thousand appologies!

Just before everyone gets into the beautiful display of fine cuisine!














After dinner, Misty takes to the mike and does an emotional song about the Titanic! What a performance!! We were all in tears!

Misty's the star tonite! She keeps singing the top hits! I remember how bashful she was a while ago! But now! Such confidence! She allows Ronnie to manage all her songs for the nite! "Whatever you chose!" she confidently says! Sara's smiling with approval at Misty's gutsy performance!














Simon has really blossomed too! It wasn't too long ago when he would say "What karaoke?" He's all set up at home too for karaoke anytime! Sara looks on impressed with Simon's singing! She too has followed Misty's footsteps & daringly performed without flinching!














Another evening....another session! This time we really went overboard!! Pity my neighbours!! Nearly 3 am in the morning! Goodness me! That's when we finished! I'll bake my neighbours a homemade bread & make peace with them!

Edmund (the one who supposedly can't sing!) & wife Florie do a beautiful Cantonese duet! Just superb! C'mon Edmund! We want more!














Vincent & Florie renew old aquaintenses with some beautiful duets!














And Oh Carol!! She's singing a Chinese song! How more impressive can she get! These people! You don't see them for some months & they start singing in some foreign tongues! Really need to be on our toes to keep up here! Adrian & Lawrence quietly admire the performance backstage!

Personalities of the Month!! Na Kobeng & William Wong!

Kobeng has recently acquired a shop lot at Mt Waverly of High St just behind The Glen shopping centre! I visited him when it was just opened for a day or two..hence the premises not quite ready!














And there's Kobeng ! Always welcoming his customers with a huge smile & open arms!














Some of the items on display at the shop! Don't know the name but it doesn't really matter! It's all sport & health products! Do step in for a visit if you are passing by! He might even do you restrings while you wait for a special price! He also has a good range of quality massage chairs for sale at really great prices! All the best Kobeng! Incidently, Kobeng supplies all our shuttles at Greenhearts!














And now to the other Personality of the Month! It's the owner of the Jade Village Chinese Restaurant in Mitcham! Wasn't very impressed as I stepped out of my car but boy! Was I surprised!




























William's got this liking for "pink" at the entrance which was quite interesting!














The interior was quite exquisite! He tells me it seats more than 100 people! I will be amazed if it's not normally full! It's really quite appealing!

It has a really spacious look about it & posh too! I was even impressed with the toilet!














And the bar looked good too! There's William nicely attired serving me a nice cuppu decaffed coffee!




























Did you know that there were at least a half a dozen framed zigsaw puzzles on the walls? And they were all done by the man himself! Really impressive guy! My personal view of this man has certainly changed significantly since I stepped into his restaurant! Some of the puzzles are shown below!
























































I surely wouldn't mind having dinner here! Didn't have much time to study the menu in detail but I would most definitely accept any dinner invites to this restaurant!! It's not one of those where you might say you wouldn't go even if it's free!! You know what I mean? On the contrary I might even consider going if I had to pay for my own dinner!! Seriously, it's a really warm & comfortable place for dinner! Drop in for a meal one day! He might even offer you a discount if he is in a good mood since he's the bossman! Ha ha! I doubt it though!

Winter's here!! Warm-ups absolutely a MUST before playing!

Look who's here! None other than our smiling assassin Andrew! Back from HK for a holiday away from all his business and looking really well! Simon, who has been our regular Wednesday player recently also joins us for lunch!














Another usual Wednesday! Wendy joins us because she's having her break from the Bundurrah womens' competition.














Another Wednesday in June where all the boys get together for some Lucky Yu tucker!














Yet another different Wednesday at Lucky Yu! And look who's here! It's the long lost May from HK for a holiday with her long lost school mate sitting beside her! What a reunion!














Looks like one big happy family! Getting together to celebrate a reunion lunch! How touching!














More excitement and merriment! Yum Seng!!














All a bit tired & hungry waiting patiently for some nourishment! Hope our chef Patrick hurries up!!

Jacqui, one of our recent members takes a rest after a hard game. She's a really good player & have little problem handling the men as well! Wishing her all the best in her studies!!
